Everything people ask before their first scan

What happens at my first appointment?
The doctor assesses your feet and lower limbs, and you walk across a pressure plate with over 8,000 sensors while we capture how your feet load and move in real time. Nothing is invasive, and you'll see your own results on screen during the visit.
How is this different from orthotics from a cast or foam box?
Cast and foam impressions capture your foot standing still. Our scan captures your foot in motion — where problems actually show up. The orthotic is then 3D-printed to match your movement pattern rather than a static mold.
Will my insurance cover this?
Most extended health plans in BC cover custom orthotics when they're prescribed following a clinical assessment. We provide the documentation your plan requires. Check your plan's annual orthotics allowance — many cover $300–$500 or more.
How long until I get my orthotics?
About two weeks from your doctor assessment to fitting. Everything is printed with HP 3D-printing technology and checked by us before you pick it up.
Will they fit in my regular shoes?
In most cases, yes — runners, work boots, and most casual footwear. During your assessment we'll look at what you wear daily and design around it. Bring your most-worn pair to the fitting.
Can kids get custom orthotics?
Yes. Growing feet sometimes need support, and an assessment is a simple way to find out. The doctor will tell you honestly whether your child needs orthotics or just time to grow.
What if they don't feel right?
Follow-up fit support is included in your price. Most people adapt within a week or two; if something's off, come back in and we'll adjust — that's the advantage of being fitted by a local doctor rather than ordering online.
